HIJACK
Improv 

HIJACK is the choreographic collaboration of Kristin Van Loon & Arwen Wilder. Specializing in the inappropriate since 1993, they insert dance where it is least expected and taunt the definition of “dance” itself.  The duo has taught and performed in New York (at DTW, PS122, HERE ArtCenter, Movement Research Festival, Chocolate Factory, La Mama, Dixon Place), Japan, Russia, Ottawa, Chicago, Colorado, New Orleans, Seattle, San Francisco, Fuse Box Festival, and Bates Dance Festival. HIJACK has taught Improvisation at Zenon continuously since 2000 as well as at University of MN and Colorado College. Van Loon & Wilder travel to study with innovators and master teachers (especially Jennifer Monson, Steve Paxton, Lisa Nelson, Nancy Stark Smith, Julyen Hamilton) to invigorate their research.
