What if I don't have the shoes needed for a dance class?
If you’re just trying a class out for the first time, like ballet, you are welcome to take class without shoes. If you decide you’d like to take that class more consistently, we advise investing in the dance shoes needed for the class.
Can I observe a class?

No, as it is disruptive to the class and can make others uncomfortable.

Please contact the School Coordinator if you would like to observe your child’s youth class.

What level class should I take?

Youth — Youth classes are for children ages 3 – 14. Youth classes typically have a specific set age range.

Adult — Adult classes are open to ages 15 and older. Children ages 13-14 may attend fundamental or beginning adult classes with previous dance experience.

Fundamental — For the ‘beginner’ beginner. Geared toward individuals who have never set foot in a dance class before.

Beginning — Students looking to build basic technique. Should have some, if limited, experience and sense of rhythm, or dance vocabulary.

Intermediate — Students ready for a faster pace and more advanced combinations. Students should have some experience, good body awareness, knowledge of basic technique and terminology.

Advanced/Professional — Those ready for a challenge or have years of dance experience.

Can I extend my 10-class card?

The 10-class card has a one-year expiration date from the time of purchase.

Exceptions may be made for severe injury/illness. Students must provide a physical note from a doctor to be considered for an extension.

Location and hours?

Zenon’s dance studios are located in The Cowles Center for Dance and The Performing Arts on the fourth floor.

Our check-in desk is to the right, down the hall from the elevators. An Xchange volunteer will open the desk approximately 1/2 hour before each class.
Volunteers are available to register students and answer basic questions about the school.

Zenon’s office is located at the start of  the hall on the fourth floor. The office is typically open from 10am-2pm, Fridays. Due to our small staff, the office may be closed at unexpected times. Please call ahead for an appointment if you would like to meet with a specific staff member.

How early should I show up for class?
Please show up at least 15 minutes prior to your class to allow time to get checked-in, dressed, and warmed up before class begins.
Are there age limits?

Youth classes are for ages 3 -14, and each class is set for a specific age range.

Adult classes are for ages 15 and older. Children ages 13 -14 are welcome to attend fundamental and beginning level adult classes with previous dance experience.

Are there dressing rooms?

Zenon has men’s and women’s dressing rooms,  as well as a lockable all-genders bathroom (past the elevators). There are showers in all of the dressing rooms/bathrooms, but bring your own soap. There are no lockers.

All genders are welcome here — please use the restroom and dressing room that best fits your gender identity or expression.

Can I take just the barre portion of a ballet class?
