How do I sign-up for class?

What should I wear to class? (Youth & Adult Classes)
Comfortable Clothes that allow free range of movement and allow the instructor to see the line of the of the body.
No jeans, street shoes, or large jewelery.
Hip-hop, Tap, and Ballet require appropriate shoes.
Can I observe a class?
No. Exceptions are pre-arranged by youth class instructors for parents to observe.
What level class should I take?
Youth classes are for beginners. The instructor will evaluate the class based on the student’s needs and teach appropriate level skills and techniques.
Fundamental – for the ‘beginner’ beginner. For adults who have never set foot in a dance class before or been to class in a very long time.
Beginning – Students looking to build basic technique. Should have some, if limited, experience and sense of rhythm.
Intermediate – Students ready for a faster pace and more advanced combinations. Students should have some experience, good body awareness, knowledge of basic technique and terminology.
Advanced/Professional – Those ready for a challenge or have years of dance experience.
Can I extend my 10-Class Card?
Only for severe injury/illness. Students must provide physical doctors note to receive extension.
When are you open?
Zenon’s lobby desk in The Cowles Center for Dance and The Performing Arts is staffed by a work study volunteer approximately 1/2 hour before each class. Volunteers are available to register students and answer basic questions about the school.
Zenon’s office hours are 10 am – 4 pm Monday–Friday. Since we have a small staff, the office may be closed during holidays, lunch hours, or when the staff is in meetings at an off-site location. Please call ahead for an appointment if you would like to meet with an office staff member.
Do I have to sign-up for class in advance?
No! Drop-ins are always welcome!
What happens when I get there? AKA: When should I show up for class?
Please show up 15 minutes before your class to allow time to get checked in and dressed appropriately before class begins.
Are there age limits?
Youth classes are for age 14 & under.
Adult classes are for age 15 to 115.
What is the difference in the class payment options?
Drop In Classes – One time class. Good for 30 days from date-of-purchase.
Enrollment – Sign up for one specific class for an entire session.
10-Class Cards – a virtual ‘punchcard’ that is good for any regular session class. Cards expire after 1 year.
Can I use Enrollment/10-Class Card to take an Artist Series workshop?
No. Artist Series workshops are not included and must be purchased as a Drop-in class.
